Once filled with food, the stomach grinds and churns the food to break it down into small particles. It then pushes the small particles of food into the first part of the small intestine, called the duodenum. The small intestine is where most of the digestion and absorption of our food takes place.

  • Speed eaters may face many health problems such as reflux, indigestion and possibly even food poisoning. In some people it may lead to overeating. And they cannot experience the proper taste of the food.
  • Speed eating is equal to lazy chewing. Over-sized boluses of food are sent hurtling down the food pipe and the food is squeezed through the gastro-oesophageal junction. When too much food is crammed in too quickly; the stomach is simply over filled and over-flowing.
  • Speed eating increase risk of reflux and indigestion.
