When dilute sulphric acid reacts with zinc granules, then zinc sulphate and hydrogen gas are formed.
Zn + H2SO4 ---> ZnSO4 + H2
Zinc being more reactive than hydrogen, displaces it from sulphuric acid. This liberated hydrogen is evolved as hydrogen gas.
