In presence of Infinity extended medium

Fm =1/4π€m ×q1q2/r^2

€m = permittivity of a medium..

We know that €m/€° is defined as relative permittivity or dielectric constant( €r or k)

And a dielectric constant is numerically equal to the ratio of force on two point charges in free space to that in medium extending infinity.

K =F/Fm
