If nitrogen fixation stopped, then the plants would not get sufficient nutrients and minerals from the soil and hence would affected human lives.

If nitrogen fixation gets stopped then plants and animals will not get nitrates and nitrites and important minerals from soil and also these compounds are very important for survival so the life will not be possible and then there will be complications in every life processes.
