There is a superhighway between the brain and GI system that holds great sway over humans ... This mind-gut connection is not just metaphorical. ... The enteric nervous system is so extensive that it can operate as an independent entity without input from our central nervous system

Nervous system in our body which consists of 100 million neurons is called as second brain of the body .  Due to this we can receive or sensations and the neurons gives the reflections to that situations . If there are is no second brain we can not convey our reactions that means we are equal to the dead body .
