During the Reign of Terror a man named Robespierre wrote about if it was necessary to destroy both internal and external enemies of the the republic or perish with its fall. The Reign of Terror was not only against the nobility, but also against anyone suspected of disloyalty. Targets during the Reign of Terror were the Catholic Church in which they regarded as the old order, and peasant rebels. Once war struck a new government battled both inside and outside the country. This caused The Reign Of Terror to come to an abrupt end in 1794 leading to Robespierre's execution. The Reign of Terror was not justified because it was primarily directed as terrorizing the opponents of the radical movement's attempts toward instilling dictatorial control. The Terror can be put out through abuse to anyone regardless of who they are.
