What happened to Gautama Buddha's wife?
(Ans) :-Yaśodhara was the daughter of King Suppabuddha, and Pamitā, sister of the Buddha's father, King Śuddhodana. She was wedded to her cousin, the Shakya prince Siddhartha, in his 16th year when she was also 16 years of age. At the age of 29, she gave birth to their only child, a boy named Rāhula. On the day of his birth, the Prince left the palace. Yaśodharā was devastated and overcome with grief. Hearing that her husband was leading a holy life, she emulated him by removing her jewellery, wearing a plain yellow robe and eating only one meal a day.Although relatives sent her messages to say that they would maintain her, she did not take up those offers. Several princes sought her hand but she rejected the proposals. Throughout his six-year absence, Princess Yaśodharā followed the news of his actions closely.
Yaśodharā also entered the Order of Monks and Nuns and within time attained the state of an arahat. She was ordained as bhikkhuni with the five hundred women following Mahapajapati Gotami that first established the bhikkhuni Order. She died at 78, two years before Buddha's parinirvana (death)
What happened to Buddha's son?
(Ans):-At the age of seven, Rahula, Buddha's son, first saw him.
His mother yashodhara told Rahula that go ask your inheritance to your father and pointed at Buddha's direction when he was eating his one meal of the day.
Rahula went to Buddha, put out his hand and asked for his inheritance. The five hundred monks and whole of kapilavastu was observing this event, everyone knew what it meant. Buddha's Dhamma was Rahula's inheritance.
But there was a problem, it had been just one year since his enlightenment. Buddha had never made a monk out of a seven year old. So he made him a monk in training, shramanera, a student who follows the shramana traditions, the one who recognize that there is no God and who accepts that only human alone can destroy their sufferings.
After that Rahula followed Buddha, learning when he taught and practicing day and night. Once he became skilled and proficient in the path, Rahula achieved the highest of the feats of this world. He achieved enlightenment. He thus became arahant, the one who has destroyed all of his sufferings.
Then he died after a short while. Buddha remained undisturbed when he heard this news.
Sufferings do not arise for the one who is enlightened - Dhammapada.
