Peter George Norman (15 June 1942 – 3 October 2006) was an Australian track athlete. ... He was a five-time Australian 200 m champion. He is also known for his support of John Carlos and Tommie Smith when they made their famous raised-fist salute at the 1968 Olympics medal ceremony.

 50 years ago, Australian Olympian Peter Norman stood with US track ... It doesn't always happen but history usually squares the ledger sooner or later.

The Olympic association also took the medal from Norman and he was not played with Australian team the next year. He (Peter Norman) died on 2006.
