Hey friend,

Here is your answer,
______________________________________________________________

Let the mass of body be m and velocity be v.

Original Kinetic energy (K.E₁) = 1 * m * v²
                                                   2

Final Kinetic energy (K.E₂) = 1 * m * (3v)²
                                              2

                                 = 1 * m * 9v²
                                    2

                                = 9  ( 1 * m * v² )
                                         2

                                = 9 K.E₁
