What happened to the position of women after the vedic age?

As in the ancient time the position of women was not good they have to struggle alot for their rights . They were denied to take education in schools after the vedic age also and their was miserable condition of widow . After the vedic age the condition of widows was miserable they were not allow to remarry and were not allow to attend the functions

So we can say that the status of women after vedic age was not good.
