The owner Mrs pumphrey never refused her dog tricki for anything . Tricki could tackle a meal at any time of the day.She would feed him malt cod liver oil , Horlicks , icecreams cakes chocolates due to which Tricki had turned into a bloated sausage with rheumy and bloodshot eyes. He even had trouble drooping in his harness . One day tricki fell so ill that he couldn't even move. he stayed on his rug panting, had bouts of vomit didn't eat anything and didn't want to go for walks .Mrs pumphrey concerned by tricki's unusual behaviour called for Mr.Herriot . The doctor improved tricki's health within weeks by improving his lifestyle. He fed tricki nothing but water for two days .He also maintained a regular excercising schedule for him . Tricki's health within a few days of his stay at the surgery started showing results . He had now turned into a lithe ,hard muscled, flexible dog.
