2NaOH+Zn =Na2Zno3+H2 in this case zinc haa displaced sodium from sodium hydroxide

Rick03: Zno3 is not compatible with the bonds....it would be ZnO2 or ZnO4.. depending upon the bonds
kishmishhan: look the compound which is formed is sodium zincate and you can check this by taking a burning candle near it and if the pop sound will come out then you'll be wrong
kishmishhan: because hydrogen gas is librated
Rick03: Yeah...so you should have read my answer completely cause I "did" mention the liberation of hydrogen gas.

Sodium Hydroxide is a strong alkaline compound, it reacts vigorously with some metals to form a salt and release hydrogen gas.

For example:- Sodium Hydroxide reacts with zinc to form sodium zincate and hydrogen gas
Equation:- Zn (s) + NaOH (aq) ---> Na2Zno2 (aq) + H2(g)

Here :- s= solid
aq= aqeous
g = gas
