When the stone is immersed in the eureka can, the volume of liquid which comes out is exactly equal to the volume of the stone.

Thus the liquid displaced by the stone comes out of the spout and may be collected in a beaker and weighed.

Hope it helps...

Answer:

If the density of stone is less than water or it has air bubbles or pores in itthen it floats and if it has more density than water then it sinks
