Synapse is the gap between two neurons. It is here that two neurons exchange electrical impulse through the chemical released in the synapse.

Explanation:

The information in the neuron travels from the dentrites, all the way through the axon and finally reaches the nerve ending. At the nerve  ending, these impulses set off the release of certain chemicals that travel through the synapse and start a similar electrical impulse in the dentrite of the next neuron.
