what happens at the synapse between two neurons?

Neurons lie end to end like a chain and no two neurons are connected with each other. There is always a gap b/w them called synapses
The electrical signals are converted into chemical that can easily cross over the gap and pass on to the next neuron where again it is converted into electrical signals.
Neurons release a chemical messenger called neurotransmitter.

synapse a small gap that occurs between axon of one neuron and dendrite of next neuron i.e. between two consecutive neurons..These chemical messengers cross synapse and starts a similar electrical impulse in the next neuron.                                                                                                                                                         Is IT Helpful..
