synapse: as we know that the two neurons are not connected there is a minute gap between the terminal portion of axon of one neuron and the dendron of other neuron.

This minute gap is termed as synapse.

question

What happens at synapse between two neuron

Answer

neurons are arranged line to line in form of a chain to transmit the impulse in a body (animal body). The synapse act as a valve b/w two neurons to make the conduction of impulse unidirectional. between two neurons there lies narrow fluid-filled space which is called synaptic cleft. nerve impulse is a self propagated electrochemical current that travels from one neurone to another neurone for the passage of message . Dendrites of a neuron acquires information the information and travels as nerve impulses from dendron to cell body Axon and finally to dendron of another neurons through synapses.

hope this helps you
