What happens chemically when quicklime is added to water filled in a bucket ?

Quick lime when reacts with water has the following reaction:

CaO (s) + H2O(l) = Ca(OH)2 (aq) + Heat

CaO or quicklime reacts with water to form an exothermic reaction and the product formed is Calcium Hydroxide.

Calcium hydroxide (Slaked lime) is formed with evolution of heat and hissing sound.
