if canes are absent in the eye you will not have coloured vision and hence see everything as black and white

ksnsrao: cones help us to see in bright light. if cones are absent in eye, we cannot see anything in bright light

Cones are light receptors present in the retina which helps us to see colours.
They are colour-sensitive and if they are absent, we won't be able to see any colours . In short, we will become colour blind.
