if a vote of no confidence is passed against a minister in the Lok Sabha, the minister would have to resign. If this motion is passed on Prime minister, The whole council of ministers and the prime minister would resign

This question is wrong. The vote of no confidence is not passed against a particular minister or individual rather it is passed against the entire council of ministers in Lok Sabha.
If the vote of no confidence is passed against the entire council of ministers, the said council of ministers has to resign and thus the government at the center falls.
