The color of AgBr and CuSO₄ is changed when they are exposed to sunlight.

Why is the color of AgBr and CuSO₄ is changed when exposed to sunlight?

  • The color of AgBr and CuSO₄ is changed because photochemical decomposition takes place
  • When the color of AgBr and CuSO₄ is changed then no displacement occurs in the elements and no reaction takes place
  • The yellow color of silver bromide changes to grey color and it forms silver metal when exposed to sunlight
  • When silver chloride is exposed to sunlight then black metal is produced and chlorine gas is evolved
