what happens if animal cells have cell wall
Answers
Answer:
transport of materials inside and outside of the cell will become impossible
Explanation:
Answer:
Well if you mean animal cells having a rigid cell wall like that of plant cells a few things would happen:
The flexibility of cells would decrease significantly as cell walls act as a rigid barrier and hence your body would be reduced in flexibility. Plant cells lack a cytoskeleton that acts as a support to prevent the cell collapsing on itself that is why they have a cell wall. A cell wall composed of cellulose on each animal cell would be quite a problem for a lot of our tissues which need to be flexible in order to be what they are, such as muscle tissue. Imagine going to the gym if you can’t break and repair muscle fibres as easily as we can now.
Cells would not be able to transport material in and out of the cell as easily with a cell wall (endocytosis and exocytosis especially would be hampered). A lot of large molecules would therefore not manage to go in and out of cells that otherwise cannot without a vacuole or through certain cases of active transport.
