Wool and silk are the examples of fibers derived from animals. Wool is made from the fleece of sheep and silk is made from the silkworm.
If the wool is not sheared off from the sheep regularly, they become uncomfortable and stressed especially during the summer and when the climate is humid. Eventually, the wool becomes stained, matted and is difficult to remove which is more inhumane. It is recommended to shear the sheep at least once in a year.
