What happens if carbo dioxide released by germinating seeds is not absorbed during respiration experiment

Carbon dioxide released by respiration of seeds will not be absorbed. So, partial vacuum will not be created and thus there will be no rise in the level of water in the glass tube. If moisture is not available, seeds will dry up and rate of respiration would fall.
