Convex mirrors are used in car rear view mirrors as they form a smaller image of the object. ... Concave mirror on the other hand forms magnified and inverted image of the object. This would form an image of a smaller area and would also inverted which would be hard to understand

Answer:
concave mirror forms inverted image in all cases except one when object is placed véry close (between pole and focus) to the surface of mirror so obviously it would be véry difficult for driver to see objects (cars) behind which are inverted. ... Hence we can't use concave mirror as rear view mirror.
