What happens if conducting tubes of circulatory system develops a leak? How could this be avoided?

when we are injured and start bleeding naturally the loss of blood from the system has to be minimised.
leakage would lead to a lot of pressure which would reduce the addition of the pumping system.
To avoid this the blood has platelets cells which circulates around the body and plug this week by helping to CLOT the blood at these points of injury.
