cones are photosensitive cells present at the back of our eye at the retina responsible for sensing the color of light . the cones are responsible for us seeing the rainbow.
any defect or mutation in these will cause less severe or even rare kinds of color blindness.
talking about the absence of these cell , we'll just see the world in shades of black , white , and Grey .
