What happens if decomposers are removed from the food web​

  • If decomposers are removed from the food web, then the biological cycles are not completed.
  • If the decomposers are not present in the ecosystem, the remains of the other organisms accumulate.

If all decomposers are removed from the food chain, then the environment will be full of dead animals and plants. Other factors like vulture and eagles also clean the environment but they are very less in number and also they feed on only dead animals not in dead plants so without decomposers our environment will be polluted.

Also when a dead plant or animal decomposes, it turns into nutrients for living plants and hence we can say that without decomposers plant cant grow.
