The thick lining of uterus due to presence of bood capillaries which was for nourishing the embryo, but now when the egg is not fertilized,this lining burst and the blood with mucous comes out through the vaginal tracts , this is known as menstrual cycle which takes place after every 28 days. This process takes place in case of egg is not fertilized.
