The ovaries produce the female egg cells, called the ova or oocytes. The oocytes are then transported to the fallopian tube where fertilization by a sperm may occur. The fertilized egg then moves to the uterus, where the uterine lining has thickened in response to the normal hormones of the reproductive cycle.

FERTILIZATION IS A PROCESS DURING WHICH EGG AND SPERM FUSE TOGETHER TO FORM ZYGOTE .

ATER FUSION THE ZYGOTE TRAVELS THROUGH THE FALLOPIAN TUBE TOWARS THE UTERUS .

IN UTERUS THE ZYGOTE GETS FUSED WITH THE WALL OF UTERUS AND STARTS GROWTH TILL IT FORMS AN EMBRYO .

THIS EMBRYO REMAINS IN UTERUS AND COMPLETES THREE TRIMESTER FOR ITS COMPLETE GROWTH .

UTERUS IS OF THE SIZE OF AN INVERTED PEAR BUT AFTER PREGNANCY AS THE BABY GROWS THE UTERUS INCREASES UPTO THE SIZE OF A WATER MELON .

SO IF FERTILIZATION OCCURS IN FEMALE IT RESULTS IN PREGNANCY .
