what happens if i add ether to HCOH+CH3MgI​

Actually ether is just used as solvent with grignard reagent

because R- is strong nucleophile So a weak acid to be used for it so ether

R- attacks carbonyl group

here Ch3- attacks

it forms ch3 ch2 O-

then with MgX+. it forms ch3ch2OMgX

then in presence of H+ it gives

ch3 ch2 OH Ethanol
