Genetic variation will not occur

Explanation:

  • If meiosis fails to occur ,in an egg or a sperm the offspring will end up having too many chromosomes or may not have enough chromosomes.
  • Apart from this without meiosis there will be no sexual reproduction.
  • The chromosome number will be doubled in each generation  because the process of meiosis  halves the chromosome number , also there will be no genetic recombination or genetic variation.
