What happens if raincoat is made with cotton threads?

As we know that cotton dry slowly and absorb more water than synthetic fiber so if raincoat is made with cotton threads so we will not protected by the raincoat and become wet

A rain coat is made keeping in view that the rain should be repelled ,but not absorbing.most of the raincoats aremade of vinyl and nylon.but not bycotton.the main reason of avoidingcotton for making raincoats is cottondoesnt repel water but absorbs it.
