What happens if raincoat is prepared with cotton thread? Why it happen so?

if raincoat is prepared with cotton thread than I will became wet because it absorb water OK stupid...

If the raincoat is made up of the cotton thread then it would fail to fulfill the motive because cotton thread would not be able to protect the person from the rains and it would also even soak the water making the person even more uncomfortable and prone to certain diseases.

So in order to protect the persons from the rains, raincoats are made up of plastic and such other fiber which could protect the person from getting wet
