Answer:

The species richness is getting declined at very high rate all over the world since many species are there which extinct even before their discovery.

Explanation:

If the trend of extinction keep on moving soon -

Over 99 percent of all species that ever lived on Earth have gone extinct. Five mass extinctions are recorded in the fossil record. They were caused by major geologic and climatic events. Evidence shows that a sixth mass extinction is occurring now. Unlike previous mass extinctions, the sixth extinction is due to human actions.

Main causes of extinction are -

1. Habitat loss - due to human greed of for farming and household they keep on destroying the forest which are the home of 1000 of species lead to their extinction since they are vulnerable to any other conditions.

2. Exotic species introduced by humans into new habitats. They may carry disease, prey on native species, and disrupt food webs. Often, they can out-compete native species because they lack local predators. for eg - carrot grass (parthenium) , Water hyacinth (terror of bengal)

3. Industrialisation.
