Deadlock: the situation of deadlock is known to have arisen in following circumstances
When an ordinary Bill is passed by the first house( the house in which the bill originates) is passed to second house , the second house takes no action over itOr when the first house doesn’t agree to the amendments made by the second house.
In case there is a deadlock between the two houses over a non-money bill or a non - constitutional Ammendment bill, the Presidentsummons a joint sitting of both the houses to break the deadlock. The bill is presented in joint sitting and voted upon, the bill should be passed with majority of more than half the members present and voting. Lok sabha being the greater house in capacity usually wins the vote.
