What happens if we use fuse material as thicker compared with thinner size?

the fuses are made thin so when a large amount of current passes through it, it melts quickly preventing any damage to the appliances or electrical fires. If they are made thick they would take time to melt and the circuit will not break and this can cause damages to the appliances due to high voltage and can even cause fires.
