Let me tell you what I do in my daily routine since I bought my computer in the year 2006 I never shut it down properly either it Hibernate automatically or when I make it on sleep mode, and whenever I come to it again I just need to hit the “Enter” key.

After that in the year 2013 I bought a new HP laptop since then I never shut it down only twice or thrice when a software recommended to do so and the best part of it - It doesn't affect my laptop yet.

So it doesn't mean that if you do not start or shutdown the computer properly it will affect your computer . Make sure you completed your work and when you complete or when you're done just make it on a sleep mode.
