Glucose- sugar, carbs. Your body can store approximately 1700 calories as sugar. When we don't eat or when we exercise we use these first. When you eat high carbs and sugar they get replaced

Ketones- fat burning. We have about 100,000 or more calories stored in our fat cells. When we deplete our glucose storage through not eating or exercise or eating no sugar and carbs the body needs a sustainable energy source so it begins to produce enzymes called ketones to help breakdown and use fat for energy. This will only happen in the absence of glucose.
