Revolts occurred in 1857 were localized and erratic.Hence,the British had no trouble in putting them down,often with thr use of brute force.In 1857 the anger and resentment had settled in the minds of various sections,for different reasons.The outbreak of the revolt cannot be ascribed to any one cause.It was the culmination of various factors that had built up over the years.Causes for the uprising of revolt was-:
