When a solid melts the particles in the solid start vibrating and can slide past each other.It looses its fixed shape and volume and gets converted into liquids.these liquids vapourizes, the particles in a liquid gain enough energy to move independently and free from interparticle attraction. It also looses its fixed volume. and gets converted into gas...hope this will help...
