what happens on connecting to many application at a time to a single socket

Heya friend!!
Rajdeep here....
What is a Fuse?
A fuse is a safety device with a wire of material of low melting point, which melts when heavy current flows through it. Now, the fuse rating of a normal household switchboard is only 5 Ampere (5A), which means that if a current of more than 5A flows through the fuse, it will melt and break the circuit, to save the appliances, which would get damaged if heavy current flows through them.
Maximum current = 5A
Voltage = 220V (Normal household)
So, maximum power = Voltage x Current
= 220V x 5A
= 1100W
Now, to answer your question,
If you connect many appliances to one socket and operate them at the same time, there is no problem if the power remains within 1100W. However, if the power exceeds 1100W, the fuse will melt and break the circuit. In case a fuse is not there, heavy current will flow through all the appliances, which will damage the appliances.
This happens when you connect a vacuum cleaner (800W), and an iron (750W) at the same time. The total power exceeds 1100W.
Thanks...
Hope my answer is satisfactory!
