Hi,
initially when the switch S is closed the current only passes through P and Q
now when the switch S is closed the current passes through bulb R thus the current through Q will reduce as the current will get divided before reaching Q , while the current through P will remain the same as it is before the division
So the glow of P will not get affected while the glow glow of Q will be reduced
