What happens soap dissolves in hard water

when soap is dissolved in hard water then some ppt. is formed. Actually hard water contains Mg^2+ and Ca^2+ ions and etc. The soap is some Na or K salt of higher organic acids such as pamitic acid, oleic acid etc. When it is dissolved in water, it forms the ppt. of Mg or Ca salt of those higher organic acids of which the soap is formed of. This is why the soap can not be used in hard water.
