The energy which is released during the oxidation of glucose is transferred to the electron transport system.

Explanation:

  • In this process the ATP molecule is formed from the ADP molecule. Since this molecule has a high bond energy in the third phosphate bond, ATP molecule is used to store a large amount of energy.
  • In addition to ATP other molecules which are used to store energy which are produced from glucose are NADH2 and FADH2.

Oxidation of glucose is the most important human metabolism.

Explanation:

  • The process breaks down glucose and creates energy in the form of ATP.
  • During glucose oxidation the energy getting released is transferred to the electron transport system.
  • Explanation: Oxidation of glucose is actually a complex process including series of steps with involvement of ATP (energy carrier for living organisms), ADP etc.,

The steps are occur as three sets:

  • Glycolysis steps
  • Oxidation steps in Cytochrome pathway
  • Kreb’s Cycle steps
  • Complete oxidation of glucose leads to result in the production of 38ATP/glucose.
