When Ferrous Sulphate crystals are heated, they lose their water of crystallization and become anhydrous Ferrous Sulphate and it's colour changes from green to white. On further heating, anhydrous Ferrous Sulphate decomposes to form Ferric oxide (Fe2O3), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) and Sulphur Trioxide (SO3).

FeSO4.7H2O -----------> FeSO4 + 7H2O

2 FeSO4 -------------> Fe2O3 + SO2 + SO3
