Potassium manganate react with carbon dioxide to produce potassium permanganate, manganese(IV) oxide and potassium carbonate.Potassium manganate react with carbon dioxide3K2MnO4 + 2CO2 → 2KMnO4 + MnO2 + 2K2CO3

KMnO4 or the potassium permanganate is a highly reactive chemical substance which reacts with most of the gases.(except noble gases)

Similarly the KMnO4 or the potassium permanganate also reacts with the carbon dioxide gas.

And in this chemical reaction potassium permanganate, potassium carbonate and manganese oxide ,are formed.

Chemical equation of this chemical reaction is :

3K2MnO4 + 2CO2 ---->2KMnO4+2K2CO3+MnO2
