when co2 is passed through lime water it turns milky due to the formation of calcium carbonate caco3.
ca(oh)2+co2=caco3+h2 when excess co2 passed milkiness disappears

priyanshu2015madhepu: No actually question is not to detect evolution of co2 gas it is to detect the absorbing of co2 by KOH please check my answer and mark it brainliest
aakash732: okkk* I Will do it

After absorbing Co2 it forms k2CO3 + H20 .It will form a white compound of potassium carbonate and we can detect it easily

manishpoonia567: easily by what symbols explain further
priyanshu2015madhepu: answer is complete
priyanshu2015madhepu: what do you want to add just elaborate
