What happens to metallic impurities copper which is being refined.

The metallic impurities present in impure copper can either be more reactive or less reactive. the more reactive metal pass into electrolyte solution and remain there. the less reactive metal collect as the bottom of electrolytic cell below the anode in the form of anode mud.
