Hello mate
When cyanide( CN⁻) is eaten , cyanide occupies the position of oxygen( O₂) in hemoglobin as it travels much faster than Oxygen does. Thus restricting the transfer of oxygen and leads to suffocation and then death.

The body handles small amounts of cyanide differently than large amounts. Large doses of cyanide prevent cells from using oxygen and eventually these cells die. The heart, respiratory system and central nervous system are most susceptible to cyanide poisoning.
Hope that it helps you.
