Hello mate.

Thanks for asking this question.

Your answer is =>

The water is essential part of plant metabolism since water is required for the Photosynthesis mechanism of plant cells.

The Photosynthesis is the preparation of organic substrate for cellular Respiration.
The Photosynthesis is that reaction series which makes the plant to be called as

 \huge\bf{Autotroph}

Now , If we study the Photosynthesis mechanism , we see that the Photosynthesis involves two stages namely =>

1) \underline{\bf{Light\: reaction}}

2)\underline{\bf{Dark\: reaction}}

For the light reaction to be completed , the Electron is necessary to be transported by the means of Cyclic or Non-cyclic chain.

This electron is obtained from the WATER molecule that we get from either surroundings or the metabolic water supply from Respiration process.

the light reaction is essential to produce the energy currencies for dark reaction as well as the assimilatory powers i.e. NADH_2 and ATP.

if water molecule is absent in the plant then the light reaction will not be proceed and so on , dark reaction too will not be carried out.

That's why Water molecules are essential for Plant.
